Introduction ot software engineering

 Software- software is a set of instruction to acquire and to manipulate them to produce to desired output in terms of function and performance as determined by the user of the software. It also include a set of document such as the software manual meant for user to understand the software system. Today 's software comprises the source code, executable, Design document, Operation and System manuals and installation and implementation manuals and installation and implementation manuals. Software is: 


  • Instruction (computer program ) that when executable provide desired function and performance. 
  •  Data structure that enable that enable the program to adequately manipulate information 
 Document that describe the Operation and use of the program 

The term Software refers to the set of computer program, procedures,and associated document (flow charts ,manual etc.) That describe the Operation and use of the program. 
  1. It is engine that drives business telecommunication,
  2. It service as the basis for modern scientific investigation and engineering program solving. 
  3. It is embedded in all kinds of System like transportation,  medical, telecommunication, military ,industrial processes,  entertainment, office products etc.
